At SYVHS/DAWG, we believe in creating a healthier future for both mother pets and their babies. Our Mommy & Me Spay Program is designed to help local pet owners by providing spay surgery for the mother at no cost while helping ensure her puppies or kittens receive the care they need and have the opportunity to find loving homes.
The Mommy & Me Spay Program allows eligible pet owners to have their female dog or cat spayed at no cost. As part of the program, all puppies or kittens in the litter must also be enrolled in the program.
Once the litter is appropriately weaned, our team will coordinate the next steps for mom and her babies, including medical care, spay/neuter surgery, and adoption placement for the puppies or kittens when appropriate.
Mom and Her Entire Litter Enter the Program
All puppies or kittens in the litter must participate in the Mommy & Me Program with their mother.
Mom Receives Her Spay Surgery
The cost of mom’s spay surgery is covered by the program.
If mom is not current on her core vaccines, she will be required to receive the FVRCP and Rabies vaccine package for a flat fee of $25 total as part of her participation in the program.
Any additional veterinary services, diagnostics, medications, treatments, or procedures requested or needed for mom outside of the included spay surgery and required vaccine package, when applicable, are the financial responsibility of the owner.
We Care for the Puppies or Kittens
Once the puppies or kittens are appropriately weaned and ready to enter our care, our team will provide the necessary medical care and prepare them for adoption.
Spay/Neuter and Adoption
Surgery will be scheduled for the puppies or kittens when they reach the appropriate age, weight, and health status. Once medically cleared, they will become available for adoption through SYVHS/DAWG.
Free Spay Surgery for Mom: The program covers the cost of mom’s spay procedure.
Required Vaccine Package When Needed: If mom is not current on her FVRCP and Rabies vaccines, both vaccines are required and provided together for a flat fee of $25 total.
Support for the Entire Litter: Puppies and kittens enrolled in the program receive the care they need before adoption.
Help Prevent Pet Overpopulation: Spaying mom and ensuring her offspring are altered before adoption helps prevent future unplanned litters.
Safe, Compassionate Care: Our team provides a safe environment and appropriate medical care for the puppies or kittens while they prepare for adoption.
Please note: Mom’s spay surgery is included at no cost. If mom is not current on her FVRCP and Rabies vaccines, the $25 vaccine package is mandatory for participation in the program. Any additional services beyond the included spay surgery and required vaccine package, when applicable, are at the owner’s cost.
The program is available to local pet owners with a female dog or cat who currently has a litter of puppies or kittens.
Acceptance into the program is based on eligibility, available resources, and our ability to appropriately accommodate mom and her entire litter.

Application Review
Once your application is received, our team will review it. Please allow 24–48 hours for a response regarding approval, denial, or a request for additional information.
We’ll Contact You
If approved, a staff member will contact you to review the program requirements, answer any questions, and schedule a time for mom and her litter to come in.
We’ll Guide You Through the Rest
Our team will help coordinate mom’s spay surgery, required vaccines when applicable, care for the litter, and appropriate spay/neuter and adoption planning for the puppies or kittens.
